6,000 other former Democratic People's Party (PDP)
Members, including former Deputy National Chairman, Chief Solomon Onwe, joined Elechi in the deposition.
Other directors included Chief Edward Nkwoagu, Labor Party 2015 governing candidate, former Senators, former House Representatives, Commissioners, Special Representatives, Permanent Secretaries and local government chairmen serving under Elechi.
Oyegun applauded them when they received the decampees because they had decided to leave their former party to join the APC.
He noted that APC controlled 24 states from the 36 states of the federation and expressed optimism that Anambara would be won by the APC after Saturday's election.
He explained that APC would take over Ebonyi Government House in 2019 and expressed confidence that the party would be able to wrest power from the ruling PDP.
Oyegun described Elechi and Onwe as men of great political clout and acumen, stressing that their entry into the APC would increase the party's chances in 2019.
"Not only did they come here, they not only joined, but also have a retinue of quality supporters.
"It is my view that with the quality of men and women we have, Ebonyi APC is finally ready to chase the PDP from the government building.
"You are now part of the APC family, we welcome all of you and together we will be eligible for the 2019 victory," said Oyegun.
