Virgil van Dijk was the hero on debut as his late header helped Liverpool secure a spot in the FA Cup fourth round with a 2-1 win over Everton.
James Milner got the opening goal seven minutes before the break as he converted a penalty with composure after Adam Lallana had been ‘bundled over’ by Mason Holgate.
However, the second half was a different story, and the visitors got a deserved leveller whe Gylfi Sigurdsson showed composure to slot home a Phil Jagielka feed on the edge of the box.
Just as it looked to be heading for a replay, Van Dijk rose highest from a corner with five minutes to go; heading past Jordan Pickford to mark a dream debut.
